Ann is an experienced and skilled communicator. Trained in journalism and creative writing, she’s mastered everything from technical text to feature articles.
Her versatility enables her to write and edit pieces for a retirement system by day and feature profiles for a local women’s magazine by night.
As a technical staff writer, she’s written and edited marketing and educational publications for print and web. She’s also developed public relations materials for media.
But writing and editing is only part of her story.
In 1988, she began providing consulting services to Michigan Forestry and Park Association and eventually became its Association Manager. Drawing on her strong organizational skills, she coordinated all of the association’s educational conferences, workshops, and seminars. She also produced quarterly newsletters to its members, managed its web content, and developed brochures, news releases and flyers that publicized the associationâ??s events.
From 2008 to 2010, she was hired by the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts as their Communications Associate and worked on press releases, newsletters and conference materials.
She’s been doing freelance writing and editing since 2007, and has published the following articles for local Lansing area magazines since then:
